Down in Bluffton, SC, hidden by massive, moss draped oaks and behind a beautiful wrought iron gate, you will follow a quiet tree lined drive to a perfectly maintained equestrian facility called Rose Dhu.
This is where I met Haley and Murphy.
Murphy is an 18 year old OTTB (he just had his birthday on January 20th) who has gone in all three rings and done a little bit of dressage. After sustaining a high suspensory tear in 2019 his show jumping days have since come to an end and now he enjoys his days in sunny Bluffton living the life and flatting around. He is often called the barn “class clown” due to his hilariously charming personality and yearling energy.
Murphy came into my life in May of 2017 when I went on the journey of purchasing my first horse after riding for many years prior. He was the first horse I tried and it was love at first sight. He was the most handsome and loving golden horse I had ever laid eyes on and I still stand by that.
Now after having him for nearly 5 years he is still the love of my life and I’m currently in equestrian studies in hopes to open an equine massage business in his honor.
