Part - 2 Life long love
Doing equine photography means I am usually out doors. This is one of my top 5 favorite types of shoots, I have loved horses since I was old enough to understand what they were, much to my parents dismay!
I have been owned by horses all of my adult life and currently get the pleasure to served 4 American Mustangs, a BLM burro and a TB/Appy cross that has a mother hen complex. A great decompressor for me is climbing on to a hay roll and watching my herd in the pasture, grazing, interacting with one another and eye balling me for treats. The image above is of most of the herd, (R-L) Kalix, Pebbles (burro) , Grimm, Berlyn (mother hen) and Spectra. Not pictured is our oldest mustang at 27, Spookers, he has run of the property and gets celebrity treatment. (He is featured in a future blog)
When I'm photographing clients with their horses I am very confident that I can capture the essence of their horse and the bond between them. I've photographed many shows and understand what images trainers and owners are looking to get to show off their horse for potential breeding, selling or to attract new clients.
